Happy New Year! We wish you a wonderful 2026!

Fruit Trees - Is there anything finer than picking and eating a fresh peach right off the tree on a summer day, so juicy it runs down your face? While it may seem like a tall order, the climate on the central coast is ideal to grow everything from apples to oranges, and everything in between!
With winter upon us, bare root fruit trees will soon be available to affordably make your backyard bonanza a reality! With prices from $100 for one tree installed with care, or $50 each if you choose 5 or more, a home orchard is within reach of any budget!
If patience isn't on your side, you can start with already rooted and growing potted fruit trees to get a head start on the edible landscape you always wished for, starting at about $250 per tree.
For smaller yards, you can request 'espalier' trees that have been trained to be productive even in the smallest of spaces. And when variety is important, fruit trees are available that have multiple varieties grafted onto the same tree, extending the harvest period and selection in the space of a single tree.
Dormant Spraying Fruit Trees - Pests that appear on lush new spring growth are eliminated or greatly reduced by properly applying dormant sprays now. They effectively kill the over wintering eggs of aphids, mites, most scales, plus many other pests and some plant diseases that are now in their most vulnerable stage. For most fruit trees apply a fixed copper or a lime-sulfur mixed with horticultural oil. For apricots use only fixed copper. The lime-sulfur may kill the apricot tree.
When to treat: After the leaves drop or just before the tender buds begin to swell and open. Avoid treatment just prior to rain as this will reduce efficacy.
Pruning - Prune trees before the buds and leaves expand. Roses need pruning in late winter once the buds swell and after the last frost.
Fruit trees need pruning for maximum production. For evergreen hedges and shrubs, the best time to shear is in early spring before new growth begins. The new growth will soon hide the woody branches and soften the plant's look.
*Seasonal pruning of trees is not included in our routine maintenance service, please contact us if you’d like to schedule us to prune your trees.

Drainage - California is known for its beautiful weather and long, dry summer months. But each winter that all changes when the rains sweep in, sometimes with great intensity, muddying up our piece of heaven. Because of our typical mild weather, drainage is too often over looked and can lead to real problems.
Excessive moisture near homes can weaken foundations, rot wooden structures, attract termites, breed mosquitos, lead to unpleasant odors, flood basements, even cause health problems like mold allergies and asthma! All of this can lead to lower property values as well, adding insult to injury.
A typical drainage system will cost in the ball park of $1500 and the savings and peace of mind are priceless. Let All Seasons Gardening and Landscaping give you that peace of mind! Call today to make an appointment to get an estimate.
